KIMERA ‘Kim” Kagwa was a cheerful lad; always upbeat and jolly and laughing and creating laughs in his high-pitched tone, right from when I first met him when we were children at King’s College Budo.

Later, he lived that happy, cheerful life mostly out of sight of many of us because he relocated to Australia and stayed there for decades.

I was lucky to have met with him on the occasions he visited back home and got to laugh at him laughing and creating joy and mirth.

His passing in January hit everyone quite hard, the emotions around it stewing around within family and friends for a whole month as we waited for him to return home for burial.

He was sent off to glory with the nobility his family is well-known for, accompanied by thousands gathered in prayer for his soul.

He will be fondly remembered—also for the legacy parting shot he laid down that I am highly partial to, as you will see in the link below from 2013.

Mrs. Eva Kiyimba-Kagwa, his mother, told everybody as his farewell drew closer that Kim loved plants and planned to beautify the home with all manner of flowers, shrubs, and trees. We all smiled because we knew he took this from her.

There were wreaths, of course, but there were so many seedlings as well, in accordance with his wishes.

I was happy that so many people obliged by bringing them because I agree with Kim. Now, even in the afterlife, he is beautifying his home by way of those seedlings and bringing the joy.

May Kim’s soul Rest In Eternal Peace.
